Comments on the Hispanic Mission...Mission to Mexico

I am long overdue for putting together an update on how things are going in two specific areas of missions. With saying that...I am also preparing to post a new mission project that is in the heart of some within Rockport...and this mission project could prove to be quite a unique and excellent endeavor.

First, let me focus on the Hispanic Mission at Rockport. In meeting with some of the prospective people and with discussion of Daniel, the pastor who has been leading/translating, etc., we have determined that Sunday mornings provide a better opportunity for people to attend. Therefore, we had our first meeting this past Sunday and will have our second meeting next Sunday. (Our prayer is that this might continue to grow and from there we would be able to start a mid-week Bible Study/Prayer Service.)

Now...this past Sunday we had 5 in attendance. I preached from John 1:1-5 and Daniel translated for me. I will be preparing to preach this coming Sunday as well. Please let me encourage you to pray for some people with whom the Lord has brought in our path and with whom we are seeking to share the gospel. There names are Amado, Ingrid, Pablo, and Rosario.

I would like to thank everyone that has committed to praying, those who have given, and those who constantly check in to see how they can be of assistance!

Mexico Mission
One of the areas that we prayed over during Sunday's Spanish service, was our group of people that will be leaving for Mexico in just a short time. Our team of people will be leaving on June 20 and will prepare to take the gospel to a small village. Please pray for us! Our theme this year is "Dios de Pactos" or God of the Covenants.

For those who are interested, we will be having a commissioning service this Sunday evening, July 17, 2007 @ Rockport.

More to come!

In all things...Christ preeminent!
